Larkana is connected to the rest of the country via a network of roads and the railway. There is one airport near the city, which is the Moenjo Daro Airport, used only for domestic flights by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
There are two major tourists attractions in the city, namely the historical site of ‘Moenjo Daro’ and the mausoleum of the ‘Bhutto’ family.
Mohenjo Daro translated, as ‘Mound of the Dead,’ is an ancient city, the original name of which is not known. It was one of the largest settlements of the old Indus Valley Civilization. How the city was lost, or what brought an end to its people still remains a mystery, though few archeologist suggests that it might have happened due to a change in course of the River Indus as a result of which the city lost its importance as a trade center.
Another place in Larkana district worthy of a visit is the Bhutto family mausoleum. It was constructed by Benazir Bhutto out of respect for her father Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s burial site in the Bhutto family graveyard. The construction was started in the year 1993. The mausoleum is a magnificent structure with five domes; seeking inspiration from the Taj Mahal. It is covered with marble and has tiles with calligraphy and fresco work done. The notable members of Bhutto family buried there are Zulfiqar Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto, Shahnawaz Bhutto to name a few.
